Beautifully made handle with excellent grain orientation. Let it be known the tongue is large and may require a lot of wood shaping. Not a negative just be ready if your axe has a smaller eye.
Hoffman handles really are on another level. You just can’t beat the price, not only for a quality hickory handle with proper grain orientation, but also for the oil bath the walnut wedge. The only minor complaint I have is that the 3 handles I have purchased all seem to run a little thin for my liking; meaning I prefer a larger diameter handle.

Well worth it for a Grade 1 hickory handle. Perfect grain orientation, generous shoulder. I could not have asked for a better handle.
I was very satisfied with my entire order. If I had one complaint it’s that hoffman handles are a little thin for my grip, but you can’t beat the quality of the handles for the price.
Excellent, strong handle that has become my go to for most axes. Have everything from 5.5 lb splitting axe heads to 2.25 lb half tassie on these handles. Great palm swell and can endure rough use.
