Designed and made in-house in East Tennessee, our premium hickory handles pair historically inspired ergonomics with a comfortable grip and generous palm swell. Every handle includes one walnut wedge.

Short handle grading

Our handles 19″ and shorter are offered exclusively in Grade #2. Grain orientation may vary, but every handle is guaranteed against cracks, irregularly twisted grain, and flaws that compromise its structural integrity. Watch our handle testing video to see how it performs.

Fit it to your axe

Our handles require shaping to fit your axe head. Measure your axe’s eye and compare it with the handle dimensions before ordering.

Extra material below the palm swell protects the handle from hammer blows during fitting. After fitting, leave it intact or trim to your preferred shape.

Make it your own

Handles arrive unfinished so you can apply your preferred finish. Optional upgrades include kerf cutting, oiling, branding, and additional wedges. Explore handle upgrades and accessories.
