I needed a handle for my True Temper Kelly perfect 4lb Jersey axe to make a nice splitting axe. This Purple Heart beauty fit the bill perfectly! Wow what a beautiful handle! This was my first handle replacement, so there was a bit of a learning curve with the project but the wood never worked against me. I needed to do a lot of trimming to fit my vintage axe head, but it was well worth the trouble. Combined with the walnut wedge, it's everything I had hoped for!

Great quality and craftsmanship. I easily hafted and restored my great uncle’s splitting axe. Loved that the handle base is flat so you can pound on it without accidentally cracking it.

The 28" straight double bit octagonal handle reworked to properly fit a 4-6 lbs bark chopper, wedge pounding or splitting single bit is the most reliable and in my opinion the best. However, rehanging an old 4lbs PLUM for my stepfather with this 31" oval handle feels great and has beautiful grain patterns. Personal preference is the only reason I gave it a 4.
