They are definitely walnut
Gorgeous handle! The shape is so much nicer than the handle my small axe came with.
Handle was awesome quality. I will buy all of my Axe handles from Hoffman.
Great handle. The grain is straight and the handle Could have been hung with no sanding. still applying BLO and will post a picture when I’m all done. Thanks for a great handle!
I thought it was going to be the same style shown. I got two of the style shown and than 3 of a straight handle
I really like all 3 of my Osage handles. Wish I could have aforded more. But if they last I will purchase in the near future.
They look great! I may not need them however, because my axe has a combination cap and wedge made of steel. When I get my handle pared down to fit properly I will test fit the steel wedge/cap and see if it looks like it will go in tight enough to secure the head. If not, then I'll use the Hoffman wedges.
Couldn't be happier! 2nd handle I've used from Liam and I'll for sure be back for more! Hung it today on a 4lb 2oz paper label Kelly. Handle feels great in the hand and looks amazing
Very happy with the product. Looks great. It was my first time hanging an axe head on a Hoffman handle. I also used the walnut wedge . It was a fun project.
The grain is straighter than a tax auditor and smoother than a politician explaining why your road still has potholes. Grip? Impeccable. It practically shakes your hand before each swing and says, “Let’s make some poor life choices together.”
So far I've gotten 4 or 5 handles from Hoffman's. I've gotten the kerf cut on all of them, and so far so good. Always cut straight and plenty far down that I've never had to cut them any further. It makes it easy since I don't have a bandsaw, and cutting with hand tools never ends up straight. And for $1 it's a no brainer. I'll be adding this on all my handles in the future.
Excellent. Thin handle is very comfortable, as long as it holds up. Any discounts for future purchases? Thanks
This was my first attempt at making my own handle from scratch and it really turned out great. I thought about using a lower grade billet for my first try but now I’m glad I didn’t because I believe the better wood is less likely to tear out with a draw knife. These billets are amazing!!
look great, good size to trim to fit.
Your 24s ovals are great handles. I like the octagonal as well, however had one split on me that I felt shoud not have split. Perhaps a bit too thin all around. I replaced it with the 24 oval.
Absolutely love this handle! Hoping all the sizes come back in stock soon cause I’m going to grab several others! Beautiful handle!!
The quality looks top-notch. I am in the process of marking it up for stock removal so that I can get it into the eye of my Kelly axe (quite a slender eye) and to shave the sides down to more closely match the original I have. I didn't expect it to fit without some tailoring, so I'm not disappointed that I have to do a little.
Really pleased with the quality of the handle. This was my first hang and it went well. If you want to see photos..https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BQYJ6A86Y/
