Our hatchet handles are expertly graded for premium quality.

Our hatchet handles in lengths 19" and shorter are graded to guarantee against cracks, irregularly twisted grain, and flaws that compromise the integrity of the handle. Grain orientation doesn't play a role in functionality in short handles, and is not graded in Hoffman handles 19" and shorter, like it is in our long handles. Our handles are elegantly and ergonomically sculpted, ending in a generous palm swell. The handle comes with a “cone-end” below the palm swell. This feature presents multiple benefits to the handle, such as protection against damage to the palm swell when fitting. Once fitted you have the option of leaving it as-is, cutting it off to the curvature of the swell or rounding it over to add a classy, vintage style bulb end. Your handle will come with 1 walnut wedge.
