Fantastic. Curves in that just right way. Ergonomic improvement over a cut down shovel handle. Would and will buy again.
These are far superior to anything available local. I purchased an assortment of handles. A couple of single bit, a boys axe handle, and a hatchet handle. Each one solid, shaped well, and while two have obvious cosmetic defects, the other two seem pretty well perfect to me.All of these will be used, so I’m really not concerned with cosmetic anyway, but these are shaped well, and feel good in the hands. Buy these, you’ll be glad you did. Much better than hardware store handles.
I'm thankful that y'all offer wood to purchase to make our own handles. It's hard for me to source lumber of this quality.Anywhere near me. The grain orientation on this lumber was perfect.
Exactly what was needed. High quality - thanks team.
I got this wicked wax and a handle for my hatchet and I am super pleased with my purchase. Thank you for your prompt shipping and good products!
These are some of the best axe handles available in my opinion , they have a great shape, amazing grain orientation.
High quality and exactly what I needed!
Love the handle fits perfect for the head that I had for it.
This handle looks great and I didn’t find any flaws that would affect normal use in any way. I used it for an old 3.5 lb Jersey style (I think) axe head.
Thanks everyone at Hoffman Handles!

Small Knot and hole through both sides of the cut kerf/ tongue. Makes me Leary of what axe head I want to put on it. I’m hoping I can hang the axe head down low enough to where I can cut that part off. Not my favorite of the three I have bought. Other than that it is a very nice handle and great feel and shape to it.
Awesome feeling handle cannot wait to put it to work
The handle is exactly as described. I have not mounted the bit yet. I have done a little mock up. There will need to be some removal of material to fit the head. Wood grain is nice and I think it will look really good when finished. Most of all the girth is appropriate for my hand. I will be purchasing more handles soon
My kerf cut was dead on, straight and true. My antique broadaxe took more cut, I was able to extend the kerf cut perfectly with my Japanese pull saw using Hoffman's cut as a guide. Thanks!!!
