Absolutely love both the grade 3 handles I've purchased and will continue buying them for my user axes. I like that its random.

A friend gave me an axe head and a bigbox store handle to replace it. I had been watching Buckin’s you tube channel took the hint. After I hafted the axe and gave it a few swings I was impressed. After my friend swung it he was surprised that the handle performed above his expectations. He really liked the palm swell as he is a large individual. Now splitting wood won’t be a daunting task anymore for him. Good deal for all involved.

A great quality handle. The feel in hand is nice, the palm swell is excellent, quality of wood and grain exceptional. It even came oiled which I did not ask for. The oil was deeply saturated into the handle which was actually pretty nice and saved me a lot of time in the way I traditionally oil and finish my handles. My only nitpick… the taper that goes into the eye was too narrow. I had to do a lot of sculpting and sink the head down onto the neck about as far as I could go to fill the gaps. And even then I needed to cut the wedge to be oversized to fill the gap at the front of the eye, as well as sink a large round wedge to mushroom the head enough for a solid fit. The dimensions given on the website showed that the fit would be within 1/32 inch on each side of the eye. It was not. More like 1/8 inch. And it was a bit short in length of the eye too. But a far cry and light years better than the junk you get from the big box stores. I would still recommend these handles and will be purchasing more in the future.

This handle is everything I have come to expect from a Hoffman. The handle is beautiful and even has some curl in the grain. They are well made and very easy to hang.
My gramp passed and I rehung his dad’s old Plumb double but as a gift for my brother. Looks good to me.
Straight grained and finished well. Have been using it a lot the last couple of days and am very pleased with these handles.
